MT. Charleston

One of the best things about living in Las Vegas is that Mt. Charleston is only 45 minutes away. Mt. Charleston is as stated a great big mountain, but the best part is that it is a break from the desert heat and in the winter it gets snow! So since we have discovered the wonders of Mt. Charleston we have wanted to go up and play in the snow when it got colder. Unfortunately the kids have been so sick we haven't been able to make it since it started to snow on the mountain. So finally we all were feeling decent and so we packed up and headed for the mountains. We had such a lovely time. Lil'Will has only really been in snow once before, last year in Columbia, so he was all about the wonder that is snow. He got real excited when we started to make snowballs and throw them at one another. The snow was too powdery to make a snowman, but great for a two year old to play with.

This is a video of Emily and baby James going down the hill. James wasn't as much of a fan as mommy was of sledding. The boys got tired of the cold awfully quick and so Mommy and Daddy didn't get an opportunity to go sledding as much as we wanted. We took some great video of William and Lil'Will going down the hill but mommy is a dork and took it sideways without thinking that you can't rotate a video! So we only have this video of sledding to share.

We had just left the ski lodge and William and Lil'Will had just gotten new snow gloves. Due to the new gloves Lil'Will was all excited to go play in the snow. He had the most fun here playing in the snow because he wasn't waist deep in the snow. Unfortunately Las Vegas just doesn't have a good supply of snow clothes, I have no idea as to why, so Lil'Will could only play for so long without freezing.

Lil'Will opening gifts

Lil'Will got some balloons from Grandpa and just had the best time with them. This is a video of him doing what he does best, DANCE! He had to have some of his mother in him, even though he does dance a lot like his Dad!

Grandpa also gave Lil'Will a bubble gun. He loves it! In nursery at church they blow bubbles at the end and it is one of his favorite things, but he has never been able to blow them well. So having a bubble gun which provides the air is the perfect solution for this bubble loving boy.

Grandpa's Visit

We've had an exciting couple of weeks. So I have a lot to catch up on. We've had a visit from my dad! The kids really enjoyed having Grandpa around. Especially James, because this meant that someone was always there to hold him! The visit was made less fun by both kids being sick. James was diagnosed with RSV and a bit of bronchitis. Which was horrible because they couldn't give him anything, but to watch for signs of asthma! I was super annoyed. So basically James has gone into seclusion for the last three weeks. I didn't want to get any other child sick and I didn't want to make his condition worse. Then when that left he got thrush! My poor baby boy! The thrush has left and he seems to be a very happy baby once again. Lil'Will also got a really bad cold. Thankfully his did not develop into the bronchitis that his brother had. So while Grandpa was here we did a lot of hanging out around the house. Hopefully when he comes next we can go and do more things. We did manage to go and see the valley of fire, give James his first solid food and go to the secret garden and dolphin habitat at the mirage. Here are some pictures of the valley of fire and James eating solids, I forgot the camera at the secret garden and dolphin habitat :(.

Waking the baby James

In the morning James gives the biggest smiles, so we all fight over who will go and get him. Usually Lil'Will will beat me to the room and today I got there and Lil'Will decided that his little brother needed some morning wrestling. James was all too happy to comply. I am just so happy that they like to be with each other. I am afraid though that since James has been wrestling with Lil'Will since he was in the womb that I may have a future WWF wrestler on my hands! It will be even better if they become a tag team! Oh, wait I am not ready to be tag teamed by them just yet!!

This what I walked into this morning.

You can't tell me that this isn't the happiest baby on the block!

Bubbles

This one of the cutest vidoes that we have taped of the boys to date. I never thought that James would be so eager to be just like his brother at 5 months of age. Sure maybe when he got to be one, but 5 months! James is just so delighted that his older brother wants to play with him that he'll let Will almost do anything that he wants. The best part of the video is listening to them both laugh! It is the sweetest belly laugh ever!

Here is some more of Lil'Wills handy work.

James just thought this was such a blast!

After we took the pictures and video we saved James and got him all rinsed off! Bath time is seriously the best!

William has this posted on his myspace account, but it is so cute that I thought that I'd share it here. Lil'Will is a total nudist as well as has a love of water. It is one of his favorite places to play.
