Running day 8
Yesterday I got up at 6:30 and ran! I am not a morning person and I was shocked I got up early to run but I did it and I did well. I was even able to get in a shower before the baby was dropped off. I am so glad that I ran in the morning yesterday cause it was a very busy day yesterday. We did play group at our house, the kids decorated their own cupcakes. Then Nana came and played with the boys. They were so happy to have her come and play with them. Then we opened gifts and had dinner then Nana and I went to a NuFace party. We were there until 10:30. By the Time we got home there was only one thing to do and that was sleep! This morning I have not run yet. The baby was dropped off at 7 and I just didn't have the desire to get up around 5:30. I guess it will be another late night run for me today. I prefer running at night just cause it is dark. I like the anonymity of running in the dark. Plus you don't have the sun in your eyes. Very nice.

My Baby's Birthday!
I can hardly believe that this mini Batman is having his big Batman birthday party this weekend! Tonight as I was tucking him in I was telling him about when he was born and about how I never thought I could love him more, but I was wrong everyday my love for this little guy grows exponentially. I feel so blessed that I get to see him grow, watch his triumphs and most importantly be there to comfort him after the failures. Some times I am amazed that he is getting so big because in my mind he is still this super small baby who had the will of a giant. Even though now he is still on the small side of things, he is tougher than nails usually when he gets hurt. We love him very much! These are just some pictures of when he was first born and then one of him from a couple of weeks ago.

Isn't he the sweetest batman ever!

I love this picture!

look at how cute he is!
Here we are in the car at Zion National Park and he had to wear this hat! He even made his father wear the other matching hat!!
Happy Fourth Birthday Lil'Will!!
Running day 7
Tonight I am very proud of myself. I ran almost the whole way with out stopping to walk once! So I walked more in the beginning cause I did 't want to run, but once I started running I didn't stop at all until i got to our front door! I was so awesome!! I realized tonight that if I play my music loud enough that everyone can hear it and stare at some very far away object I am good. I can keep running and push all the negative thoughts out of my head. The music is so that i have to focus on it since nothing can be as loud as that, hopefully hearing aids will be hot pink and look like earrings when i need them! Then staring at something far away makes me focus on that as being my stop point. So if it is so far that i can't get to it it works. I also saw a coyote tonight. It was in front of our street as I was heading back. It then ran up our street while i was turning up it. It made me nervous cause it ran beside our house. I would hate to think of it as getting my baby puggies. Coyotes are scary animals. Tomorrow I am going to start running in the morning so wish me luck that I survive this!!

Running day 6
I ran. Actually tonight I really didn't want to run so I ran walked. I walked the distance between two street lights and then ran the distance between three street lights. I figured this sort of worked as sprint training. The fact is that I was lazy and really didn't want to run but knew I needed to. So instead of running everything I split it by 1/3 of walking and 2/3 running! Then I came home and mopped the floors! Now it is time to be off to bed!

Running day 5
I did run last night, but I went to a jewelry party and didn't get home late since we also stopped at Khols. I am very proud of myself since I walked into Khols and didn't buy a thing. I was very tempted but I didn't do it!! I ran half of what I normally do since I was tired and I knew in the morning I would be getting up early to get the gang ready for a busy day of soccer and a primary activity.
Tonight though I got done even later than yesterday and I was guilted by William to do the whole run. Which is really great. I have come to the conclusion that I am a very slow runner. I knew this all along but I am really slow. I know it is cause I use a very small stride, but I don't think that I am ready yet for a full on stride. I think that may kill me so for now I am very slow. I am happy tomorrow since it is my Sunday to sleep in and William is teaching the primary lesson so it is 2 points for me! I love it!

Running Day 3
So, William and I have come to an agreement. If I run everyday for 4 months we get to try for another baby. So I will be numbering the days. Now if I don't run one day we start at the beginning all over again!! Not fun at all! So last night we did a family movie night and I got suckered into watching The Incredibles until 9 and the boys still had to have their bath. I didn't get to run until after 10 at night. It would have been very easy to blow it off but I would like to have another baby and I don't want to start all over again on the day we made the agreement, that would be stupid.
What I want to know is why the first mile is complete drudgery. Why is it so awful that everything in you is like Stop!! Then I get past the first mile and I feel good for about a 1/2 mile until my lungs start burning and want to end all breathing!! William tells me that it gets better after the third mile, but since i haven't gotten that far yet I don't know. Another thing William has told me is that you haven't run far enough or hard enough until you start to taste blood. Now I think that is a little over dramatic and a bunch of bull but I wanted to see what you all had to say on the subject.
Christa I am amazed at your friend who is running 7-10 miles a day!! That is truly amazing to me. I feel like I will never get there. I hope that I will since it helps provide all these great benefits, but 2 miles right now kick my butt!! I hope one day that I will be able to run around 5 miles a day. That is my goal.

Running the Ever Growing Saga
So today I ran. It wasn't a fun run. I felt like a cripple today while I ran. After last nights run I ran into our neighbor Jessica and talked to her for another hour. Well, I didn't stretch afterwards and I have a little muscle on my right leg that likes to cramp up if I don't stretch it after running or walking. So needless to say it bothered me my whole run. I tried walking at one point to see if it would feel better and it actually felt worse! What a pain in the fanny!! It was probably good cause it kept me running, but it also had me take a short cut so i took about 1/2 mile off my run. Today the only person bothering me was William. I missed Amy calling me to run. I like it when she calls me to harass me, it makes me feel important! Sad I know! Now I am waiting for William to get off his computer and go to bed! Love you all!
Quick shout out!
I just wanted to give Amy a quick shout out to say thank you for calling me last night to see if I ran. It forced me to run! I was at the temple when she called but it did the trick. When I got home I changed and went running! So yea!! Go Amy!! Thanks!!

Lil'Wills first soccer practice
Saturday was Lil'Wills first soccer practice. He is a Nellis Thunderbug! He had a great time playing with all the other kids. We were real surprised to see all the natural talent that he has that his father and I don't have! He did a great job kicking the ball, dribbling it across the field and listening to his coach. We couldn't have been more proud of our Thunderbug! Now if we can only keep our thunderbug in training off the field!
I cut of Wills head cause he wasn't smiling! This was right before practice.
Taking a quick break.
Here he is doing quality stretches!
He just scored and is getting his ball ready to dribble.
A great action shot of him going to kick the ball!
Air Force Ball
On Thursday I received a phone call while I was trying to host play group that William had been given two tickets to the Air Force Ball on Saturday. If you are a girl you know that that is not enough time to get a dress and everything done in time. But needless to say I found a beautiful dress and we had a wonderful time at our first ball. We were put at the same table as most of the colonels in Williams wing. The evening was full of military pomp, many of the traditions were new to us but exciting to be a part of. I enjoyed having to get a nice dress and getting all dressed up as well as the night full of dancing!! I really enjoyed it and hope that we have many Air Force Balls ahead!
Here we are in front of a predator.
Same picture but with a finger in the way.
At home before the festvities
Our first picture of the evening!

Running
So I am trying to take up running. I have tried in the past and I always stop because I am lazy and I hate it. But I really need to do it now! The doctor has given me an ultimatum saying I need to loose weight and boost my cardio, so therefore I run! Tonight I really didn't want to run in fact I walked the dogs and then talked to my friend, Jessica until 10:30 thinking that I could get out of it. Then I got home and William was already asleep so I thought yea! I am free!! He will never know if I don't run, but then because I would have made the perfect catholic I guilted myself into going for a walk so I wasn't completely lazy and then while walking the short walk up my street I guilted myself into going for a short run. I'd only run part of the way and then walk the end. Well in the end I guilted myself into running the whole thing!! Which is so good. I continued to run cause it was nice and cool for Las Vegas, like low 90's and the sun was down so it was beating on me. I was proud of myself cause at the end I really started to hit a stride where I thought I might be able to run for a while, but then my head was like hello you've already run enough, so I stopped at my door step.
So since I truly hate running, I really, really do! I am asking help from those that read the blog, which is probably a small number, but oh well, I am in need of public harassment to help me keep running. So I will try and post every day if I ran or not and if I didn't I need you all to harass me so that I will just so I don't have to be bothered by you all! I know stupid but I run cause I hate hearing it from William, so I think it will work this way too! I look forward to letting you all know how much I have run and how much I dislike it. I am hoping that I will eventually grow to love it like so many of you do! Pray for me and wish me luck!
