Playing at night

Yesterday Lil'Will fell asleep at mid afternoon which meant that he wasn't going to go to bed on time.  I tried to wake him back up but he wouldn't have it so I gave in.  The funny thing is that James refused to go to bed until Lil'Will did so they both stayed up late last night.  This gave them the opportunity at night play.  Which I must say was nice since it was a lot cooler.

He's not sure if he wants to cut the grass or pop it.
A juice can that was going to go in the recycle container became a perfect holder for this dirt.
They love playing in the dirt and I love it because since I have to be out there with them I am able to sit and read instead of doing something dreadful like cleaning!
He really enjoyed running his popper in the yard last night.  It was just so much fun.  I think he liked running without sweating as much!  Everything is more fun at night!

Fudgesicles

Yesterday after an hour of playing in the dirt with the bobs we decided that we needed a popsicle.  Lil'Will decided that we needed fudgesicles.  Since the boys were already dirty from playing with their bobs I let James have his very own fudgesicle.  Look at what a good time he had!

The dogs were very happy that Mommy let James have his own fudgesicle.
Such a happy baby!
Lil'Will did so much better keeping clean.
Not one inch of him is without chocolate.
Enjoying it down to the stick!

Climbing his first tree!

Lil'Will has wanted to climb a tree for a very long time now.  He is always showing me trees and then asking if I think he could climb it.  Well needless to say it has not been the best oportunity yet for him to climb a tree.  Recently we went and visited with a friend who had a baby girl.  As we were leaving the hospital we saw these trees and Lil'Will would not let us leave until he climbed a tree.  So with a little help from mommy he was able to climb his first tree.  Look at how proud he is of himself!  He then wanted to climb all the trees at the hospital, but I thought unless we wanted to make our visit an extended stay due to a broken arm, mine or his, it would not be a great idea.

A Vegas Rain Storm

Ever since we got here we have heard that the rain storms can be very powerful and usually the city will flood at least once a year.  We have not experienced until last Monday.  Usually the rain falls down by the strip and by the time it gets to us there isn't much left.  Well on Monday it was a different story.  All of a sudden the sky got grey and about an half hour later the heavens opened like I have never seen before.  The rain came in sideways due to the wind.  It was super crazy.  The view from the front of our house was the best but this a video from the back.  The even more crazy thing is that an hour after the storm ended everything was dry in the back yard again!  You gotta love the desert.

Bob the Builder

Lil'Will and James have developed a great love of playing in the dirt.  Which should not come as a surprise since it is great fun.  Plus, William came home everyday of Kindergarten all dirty and muddy, when asked by his mom what happened he would say he fell into a hole!  After a while she asked his teacher where was this hole her son was falling into and the teacher replied that he didn't fall into a hole but that he dug one every day!  All love of the dirt and playing Bob is definitely in their blood!

Lil'Will dressed himself.  He puts his pants on backwards and he loves pants!
James in a place that once had grass but now only has dirt!
Here they are forming the hole in the dirt spot they created.
Yes, that is dirt that he has eaten on his face.  He just wants to make sure it tastes good for the worms!
He is thinking of what he can do here on virgin ground!  It was soon cleared of rocks and a hole is forming!

Update on William

William told me today that he will be returning home on Sunday the 31st at 7pm.  We are super excited for him to be coming home!  Lil'Will and I have already scheduled Sunday so when he gets sad about missing Daddy we talk about what we are going to do on Sunday and it makes him very happy!  But the super sad news is that they now have a date and information on when he leaves for Iraq.  He will be leaving late on Wednesday the 3rd.  So we get about two days with him before he has to leave.  The super sad part is that the 3rd is his birthday!!  We are asking that if you want to talk to him call on the 1st so that he can have the 2nd just to be with us.  I am happy to have a date for his departure, but at the same time my heart is breaking into a million pieces.  I can hardly believe that the time has actually come where we wont be able to see him or give him a call.  How do I say this . . .  It was hard when he left for basic and there was truly no communication except for two letters while he was gone for six weeks, but this is so different.  I am not sending my husband to a safe place in the United States.  No I am sending him away to a war zone!  Or as the Colonel says into an hostel environment, or into harms way. I pray that I am strong enough for this.  He will be very missed!

One more mud video!

I can hardly believe that I am now able to post these videos!!  This is super exciting!!  I have one more cute mud video.  In this one James really gets into enjoying his mud puddle.  He has also learned how much fun it can be to splash recently.  He has always known how to splash but had not realized what fun it is to soak his mother while bathing!  In this video he is practicing his splashing skills and by the smiles and giggles you can tell he is enjoying it very much!

Sharing Videos ;)

I really hope this works.  Since blogger is not set up to accept videos from a mac computer I have had to search for alternative ways to share them.  I can upload videos to youtube.com and then I can have them embedded here for you all to see.  So I am hoping that I can do that and start to share videos.  I have taken some super cute videos and I haven't been able to share them.  I wasn't to concerned and then William left and now he doesn't get to see the boys and see the cute videos when he gets home at night so now I had to figure it out.  So I finally took them time tonight to figure it all out.  Lets see how I did!

Making Mud Pies

Alright so they weren't exactly making mud pies, more like trying to vacuum the mud with their pop corn popper!!  We have a busted water line right behind our house which has made our rocks into mud rocks.  The boys are loving having their own mud pit in which to play.  This was the first night that we found it.  I wish I could figure out how to get videos to post because I have some great videos!

Vacuuming the mud pit
A great picture to see how dirty he got!  Needless to say they went straight into the bath afterwards.
A good picture of Winston.  He loves being outside with the boys.

Spending time with Daddy

On Sunday we went and visited with William.  It had been almost two weeks since we had seen him and the boys were so excited to spend some time with him.  All they wanted to do was be thrown in the air and rough house a ton.  I think all the boys were super happy to be together.  Unfortunately these moments are bitter sweet since they don't last very long and soon we are on our way home.

A gentleman was nice enough to let the boys pretend they were driving his bike.
Even Baby James got in on the fun.

Sharing Popsicles

No, I did not let my sons eat popsicles for breakfast.  Lil'Will just decided that after we had gotten dressed gone to the park and came back that he needed to put on his pjs again.  Plus it was super hot but he was happy to eat popsicles out on the porch in his hot pjs.

Sophie is hoping that it drops

On the way home

Here are some super cute dirty face pictures from our way home from Nana's house!  I tried to get some pictures of Lil'Will but it was to hard while driving so these are just of the baby!  Or as Lil'Will says, "My baby."  My favorite picture is the last because he is asleep!  They are always so much cuter while they are sleeping!

More please!
Munching away
I call this the Homer Simpson beard face.

76 trombones lead the big parade. . .

Or in the case of Baby James that would be the cymbals.  What James loved most about Nana's House was that their weren't any baby safe locks on her cabinets, well that and all the wet doggie kisses a boy could want.  Oh, It was so exciting to walk to a cabinet and know that he could pull out whatever he wanted.  His favorite thing were these lids.  They made such a cool loud smashing noise when he put them together.  They eventually had to be taken away which resulted in a tantrum.  Because he got so good with the lids him and his brother were carted away to McDonalds to play on the play place while Nana worked.  I think this made the lids even better!

Its so hard to stay vertical when you are smashing lids together.
See the evil happy face!
He's letting me know that Nana doesn't mind the noise since he is the one making it!

Nana's house!

We spent the week at Nana's house.  It never ceases to amaze me that with in minutes of entering Nana's house Lil'Will has found himself in Trent's room with all the guns and such.  He is always so happy to find all these great toys that are practically new to him.  We had a great time playing in the pool, at the beach and in the sandbox.  The boys were happy because there was always someone to love on them and to play with.  But they were very tired when we made it home.  Thank you Nana and Trent for a super fun week.

So happy to play!
I love this photo!  It screams, walk quietly and carry a big stick!
He tried to ride the skateboard like a big boy, but decided this was the best way to ride.
The  boys waiting for dinner.

Lil'Will has a cow on his head and he's gonna keep it there all day!

Now if you can name that song and where it comes from you get a cookie!  Lil'Will loves that band and thanks to Aunt Christa we listen to it a couple of times a week.  Really I am thankful.  We love to dance and sing at our house.  Well we have the animal humidifiers at our house and when the song came on Lil'Will went and grabbed the top to the cow one and we all had to wear it!

Our 5th Anniversary!

So I know that I am totally like 17 days late with this post but I thought the picture was cute so I wanted to post it up here anyways!  For our fifth anniversary I had a friend watch the boys and I went and visited Will.  I was totally not supposed to be there so we spent our anniversary hiding out in the car by the dog kennels.  I know very romantic.  It was so hot that even though I had prepared for us this really nice picnic even with candles and everything we couldn't sit outside.  Well, we could of but we would've lost a lot of water.  So we sat in out air conditioned car, again very romantic.  Then after we ate dinner we went and looked at the dogs, actually fun.  But since it hadn't taken that long to look at dogs and eat we borrowed a movie from a guy and so we ended up watching 300, again very romantic!  I told William that he was very lucky this anniversary.  I cooked and so he didn't have to spend any money and then we got to watch a total guy movie!  It was just very nice for us to be together.  I am happy that he hadn't left the country yet.  It was a small sacrifice to pay to be together on our anniversary.

Here we are chillin' in our car.  And yes I cut off all my hair!

Family Pictures

Here are a few pictures of our family during a recent visit with William, his training is at a base that is only 45 minutes away from our current base.  We are very lucky he is so close.  We still don't know when he will be coming home or leaving for Iraq.  We hope that we will get at least three days with us before he leaves the country.  He is doing really well.  He is working super hard since he doesn't have us to distract him.  He is making a real good name for himself with his commanding officers.  Always a blessing.
A picture of our small family
Lil'Will didn't want to look at the camera so I think William might actually be tickling him!
He wanted to get down and run around.
Baby James just wanted to eat his hat.  He kept taking it from his head, which is against his regs for his uniform.
A very nice picture of Baby James and William
My love!!
